If we haven’t met yet, my name is Lee Ngo — the photo above was taken in Nov 2025. I’ve been carrying out installations across Brisbane for more than a decade, and I’m still going strong.

I’m now focusing our installation services on selected areas within Brisbane so we can better support customers buying online across Australia. Why I Named the Company CustomLink

Each product in the security and automation industry is designed differently — with its own features, functions, and ideal applications.
Spending less can sometimes compromise protection, while spending more can be unnecessary if the product isn’t a good match for your actual needs.

Example 1 — The Right Product for the Right Purpose

A simple example is the difference between two cameras: one produces black-and-white images at night, and the other delivers colour night vision.
The colour model costs more, but if you only need daytime monitoring, or if the camera is placed near a sensor light, the extra cost isn’t justified.
The key is choosing the right product for the job — not just the most expensive one.

Example 2 — A Real-World Project That Defined Our Name

In 2016, we quoted a $44,000 integrated security and automation system for a factory in Carole Park, QLD, while another company proposed an alternative for $26,000.

The factory operated nearly 24 hours a day and included multiple areas — administration, dispatch, deliveries, and production — each with different access levels and operating schedules.

The client required a system capable of:

  • Automatically opening the main gate during office hours
  • Automatically tracking contractor attendance for payroll
  • Unlocking doors via facial recognition and RFID cards for authorised staff and delivery personnel
  • Auto-arming unoccupied areas with a warning before activation

Although the client initially asked us to match the competitor’s lower price, doing so would have compromised performance, reliability, and long-term value.

Installer Licensing Responsibility

Installation of security and cabling systems may require specific licences depending on your state or territory.

In Queensland, this may include a Security Equipment Installer Licence and, for those giving professional advice, a Security Adviser Licence.

Your chosen installer is responsible for ensuring they hold the correct licence(s) for the work they perform.

Centsys Sliding Gate D5

Team at Custom Link recently replacement Sliding Gate motor at my office. They recommended the Centsys D5 to us and provided us with a very completive price to supply and install the unit.
